Outdoor Range

The Club has two outdoor ranges.  The first one is our 25 yard range.  The range has a shooting platform with a concrete floor and a shingle roof.  The back of the shooting platform is lined with shelving to hold shooting accessories.  There are two permanent target stands with replaceable 4 x 8 plywood backing.  Shooters need to bring their own targets and a staple gun to hang them on the target stands.  There is also a 25-yard shotgun range.  This consists of a metal cable strung from the last backstop to a pole at the end of the range.  Shotgun shooters can hang their target from the cable and avoid causing major damage to the plywood backstops.  These backstops are maintained by the club and replaced when necessary.

The other range is our 100 yard range.  This shooting platform is also roofed and has a concrete floor.   In addition, there are six shooting benches, capable of seating two shooters at each bench.  The target stands at the 100 yard range are steel-framed and have replaceable 4 x 8 plywood backing.  Shooters need to bring their own targets and a staple gun to hang them on the target stands.  This range has smaller 25, 50, 75, and 100 yard backstops (dirt mounds) for shooting metallic silhouettes.  Additional space is available for bowling pin and falling plate shoots.  Presently, there are no stands for this type of shooting.  However, if enough members express interest in these or other types of action shooting, then the stands would have to be built to accommodate this activity.

Both ranges are well kept and mowed.  Shooters are asked to clean up their used targets and brass.  The Club tries to maintain containers for these, but there have been times that they have been targets of vandalism.  The road to the back range is almost a mile long.  Drive with caution because of the potholes and bumpy road.  This is really a great place to shoot.
